Busy with Crafts and Babies
So much excitement today!

This morning, while I was on my way to meet Mum for a day of shopping, I got a call from my Birth Companion match... she thought that maybe her water had broken. We talked it over and I decided that it was probably just her mucus plug (not really just, it's a great thing, and it means her body is getting ready for Mr. Babypants). I assured her that I will head over the second she gets nervous or feels that she needs me, but that it could take weeks after the plug for labour to start, or hours. Each woman is different. I was flattered to discover that she called me first, even though I'm the least experienced of the bunch. She told me that she feels a bond between us and that she's far more comfortable talking to me :)

So, just in case, I canceled on Mum and did some last minute baby shopping (namely the ingredients for Labourade, think Gatorade, but for Mamas in labour.) before coming home.

Basically, what this means to me now is that I'm going to stay close to home/car/birth bag for the next week or so until my Mama needs me. I am hoping that the little guy makes his entrance before the 18th, but we'll have to see how he's feeling.

So, while we wait, I'm pondering dinner (Thinking I'll do the Fiesta Chicken Enchiladas again). We just watched Zombieland (love that movie) and am pondering watching more Supernatural or crafting. Want to see what I've been doing lately?

Here's the 2 year cardigan which better still fit:

Mrs. Darcy
Right now, I'm almost done one sleeve, with only the other sleeve left. I really should get this done, as it was my intention to wear it this winter.

More? Alright, well, first a bit of a warning for a certain someone I adore...

Wreath being wreathy

Wreath modeled by The Fug chair

Oooh, details!

Pattern: CoCoKnits Knitted Wreath
Yarn: Noro Kureyon. <3
Notes: I doubled the size of the wreath to accommodate the HUGE wire frame I got (ah, last minute Michael's shopping). All I have left to do is add the ribbon for hanging. A very quick knit, took me about three evenings total to get it done.

It's a gift for my dear Sarah's family. Yay for the holidays :D I'm going to make a little one for Pat and I (I think I actually prefer them at the half size of the pattern. They're so much fuller and so cute!)

And finally...

Al's commissioned gift in progress... It's a recycled sweater scale scarf. Four adult size sweaters, felted and cut up, layered and sewn on to a piece of grey wool fabric. It's going to be about 7 feet long and about 8 inches wide.

So I've been busy :) I'm also working on my webpage and plotting a change for here too (if I can figure out the LJ formatting stuff). So on that note, I'm off to make dinner

Heh, those are for me. First time labours tend to go towards the 24hrs, so I want to be able to be at least semi-conscious ;) We do, however, make a gatorade type thing for Mommies, called Labourade. There's a bunch of different versions out there, but mine is basically cranberry juice, gingerale, salt, sugar and ice.
